My big boy is sick. He had a low grade fever on and off all day yesterday. He woke up this morning about 4am burning up. I took his temp and it was 102.2. He has never has a fever much less that high. I knew something was wrong so I called our pediatricians office. The nurse said they wanted to see him today and to call back about 7:30am to make an appointment. When I woke up about 7:15am his fever had broke but wanted to take him in anyways. I called and made an appointment for 10:20am. I got ready and got both boys ready then headed to Grammys to drop Harrison off. My this point he was a little warm, very whiny and just wanted me to hold him. He also slept until i woke him up at 9:30am. This is very unlike Lincoln. He is always full of energy and doesn't have time to sit and get love unless he is sleepy. Once we got to the doctors office he had several meltdowns. He cried because he didn't want to get out of the car. Then he cried when we got up from from the waiting room then we Dr. Carroll walked in the room. Not mention when the exam started and he had to take his temperature, look in his ears and down his throat. Dr. Carroll said his ears were fine but his throat looked a little red so he sent us to the lab for a strep test. Queue a meltdown. The nurse had to stick a giant q-tip in his mouth and scrap the back of his throat. Of course it came back positive which totally shocked Dr. Carroll. He said you rarely see strep in children under three. I told him it was because Lincoln was the size of a three year old. He gave us a prescription for 6ml of amoxicillin twice a day for the next ten days.

I so glad a trusted my motherly instincts and went ahead and took him to see his pediatrician. He is napping right now and hopefully will be feeling better soon.
