Baby #2- 20 weeks

How far along: 20 weeks

Size of Baby: Canteloupe
Big Brother Lincoln: He has been sick all week so I took him to the doctor because he wasn't getting better.  He had an ear infection in his right ear and the start of one in his left ear.  He was also having some sinus issues.

Total weight gain: 12 pounds...seriously this has to stop!!  I don't understand how I am gaining so much.  Yes, I do eat more but I am also way more active than I was when I was pregnant with Lincoln.
Maternity clothes: I can still wear some non maternity things.

Gender: It's a BOY!! Harrison Joseph Barajas

Movement: I usually feel him move a couple of times every day

Sleep: I am still sleeping great.

Symptoms: The round ligament pain has gotten a lot better and I usually only have it if I have been picking Lincoln up a lot or doing a lot that day.  The pain from the partial placenta previa seems to have gotten worse.  I guess I will find out at the doctor this week.

What I Miss: Not having to worry about having a double chin in pictures.

Cravings: Peanut butter and hot wings.

Best Moment this Week: Finally getting to really feel Harrison move and deciding on a name....Let the ordering begin!!

What I'm Looking Forward to: Getting to see Harrison on the ultrasound this week.
My chunky monkey was not feeling too hot.  Poor baby!

Sucker Fun

Lincoln got this sucker in his Easter basket from his Nana and Pop Pop.  We decided to go ahead and let him try it since the power was out and we knew it would entertain him for a little while. (This was the day the tornadoes hit Trenton and after the one that did the damage to our house and knocked out the power.)

We knew he would like it but had no idea he would love it this much!

This is what happens when you take a sucker away....

The most dramatic crying fit you have ever seen!  Look how pitiful he looks.

Fa La La La La....WAAAHHHH!!!

Christian was acting like he was going to sing and Lincoln hated it!  I would get Lincoln calmed down and if Christian made another sound Lincoln would start bawling again.

Swimming Pool Fun

Since Lincoln loves the water so much we decided it would be smart to invest in a kiddie pool.  We didn't want a regullar everyday one though.  We wanted something that a have a few toys and a slide plus we wanted to be able to get in with Lincoln.  We were so excited to find this one at Target for $26.99!!!

We couldn't believe how cheap it was and knew Lincoln would love it so had to buy it!

Now he can't stay out of it!!!
Worth every single penny!  I would have paid more just to see that smile!

Yesterday was my day off from work so we decided to go for a swim.  I have been dying for Lincoln to wear all of his new swimming clothes.  He looked adorable!!!

He actually left the hat on for most of the time which surprised me.

I have a feeling we are going to be spending most of our free time in the pool this summer.  This kid can't get enough of the water!!

Baby #2- 17 weeks

How far along: 17 weeks

Size of Baby: Onion

Big Brother Lincoln: Lincoln has decided that he doesn't like going to bed at 8:30pm anymore and would rather stay up until about 10pm or 10:30pm and sleep late in the morning.  I am not to happy about this because I like to go to bed early.  I do like the sleeping late on the weekends though :)

Total weight gain: At my doc. appt. on Thursday their scale said 8lbs but I don't believe it.  I weighed myself when I got home and it said about the same thing but the next day I was down 3lbs so I am sticking with 5lbs.
Maternity clothes: I am still wearing a mixture of both. Chrsitian took me shopping for Mother's Day and I bought a lot of cute things :)
Gender: It's a BOY!!  Another stinkin' boy :)  j/k
We are having the hardest time trying to figure out a name.

Movement: Maybe a little but nothing consistent.

Sleep: I am still sleeping great. I can't really sleep on my stomach anymore and that stinks!
Symptoms: I found out that I have partial placenta previa.  The ultrasound tech that it isn't something that I should worry about right now because it will probably get better the farther along I get.  Plus I have to have a C-section regardless so it isn't that big of a deal.  It does cause a lot of discomfort though.  My OB said the other pain is just round ligament pain.  She said there wasn't anything I could do to help it really.
What I Miss: Sleeping on my belly
Cravings: cheese sandwiches
Best Moment this Week: Getting to see the new baby on the ultrasound and finding out that it is a boy!
What I am Looking Forward to: Leaving for the cruise this weekend.  I am going to miss Lincoln like crazy but it will be nice to get away with Christian for the week and go back to where we got married.

This is the picture we sent everyone to tell them the news.  Lincoln looks pretty excited that it is a boy.

Baby #2- 16 weeks

How far along: 16 weeks

Size of Baby: large Pear

Big Brother Lincoln: We had quite an eventful week.  The first two nights after the tornado Lincoln woke up 3-4 times a night.  I don't think he even woke up tha much as a newborn. Since we weren't staying at home he had to sleep in the bed with us and he hated it.  Once we started staying at Christian's mom's house where he has a crib to sleep in he was back to normal and sleeping all night.

Total weight gain: 5lbs!!!!!!!!!!  Yes, you read that right.  I have gained 2 pounds over the last week.  I don't see how this is possible and I am pretty sure my scale is playing a mean trick on me.

Maternity clothes: I am still wearing a mixture of both.  I forgot how comfortable maternity pants were :)  I am mostly just wearing pants but I have worn a few shirts.

Gender: Still not positive but we think it is a boy.  Hopefully we will be able to have an ultrasound at our next appointment and find out for sure.

Movement: Maybe a little but nothing consistent.

Sleep: I am still sleeping great.  I am pretty sure my days sleeping on my stomach are coming to an end very soon :(

Symptoms: I am lost of pain in my belly after picking up Lincoln.  He is just so heavy but it is a pain I am willing to bear as long as the new baby is okay.

What I Miss: Nothing that I can think of right now.

Cravings: cheese sandwiches

Best Moment this Week: Finding out all of our family and friend were safe after the tornado.

What I am Looking Forward to: My doctor's appointment so I can (hopefully) find out if I am having a boy or girl.

I love that you can see his cute little teeth :)

My wild man or Destructo.  Excuse his dirty face he had just finished some yummy carrots for dinner.

Lincoln- 9 Months

9 Months

Weight: 27 lbs 2oz

Length: 29 3/4

Diapers: I just moved you up to size 5.  The size would still work but they were getting a little tight and size 5 seems to be a better fit.

Food: You eat a bottle when you first wake up. Then about 2 hours later you take a nap. When you wake up you take cereal or baby food then a bottle. We give you a 6oz bottle but you usually only eat about 4oz. At lunch you eat a fruit and take another bottle then you usually take about a 3 hour nap. You usually eat dinner around 5 or 5:30pm. You eat a veggie and take another bottle. At night we have been giving you 8oz before bed. You still love fruit.  You do pretty good drinking out of a sippy cup most of the time.  You still eat stage 2 baby food.  Your favorites are, of course, the desserts.  You will still eat the veggies and fruit too.  We try not to give you desserts very often.

Clothes: You are wearing mostly 24 mo.  Most of your shorts and tshirts are 2t or 24 mo.  You have a few things that are 18 mo that fit fine.  The 18 mo. short seem to be a little too tight though.  You are wearing size 4 shoes.  Your shoes are hard to find because your foot is very thick and wide.

You had your second ear infection this month.  The doctor said it was just starting and we caught it pretty fast.

You are so happy!  You can now say "Da Da" and "bye bye".  You said "Ma Ma" a couple of times but only once where Mommy could hear it.  You love to talk and scream!

You started crawling this month and are getting faster and faster every day.  Pretty soon we are not going to be able to keep up with you :)  You also love to pull up on any and every thing you can get your hands on.

You cut 6 teeth this month all in about a week and a half.  The first two were your two front teeth, then your two bottom teeth.  The last two were the ones beside you two front teeth.

You LOVE to patty cake!!  You can also wave bye bye.

I can't believe you are only 3 months away from being a year old!  I am excited and sad all at the same time.  We couldn't ask for a better baby.  Even through the teething process you have been great and hardley ever irritable.  Changing your diaper has become a little challenge.  You are squirming and trying to roll over the whole time.  We have learned that you loved to hear your name being spelled out.  We usually do this while changing your diaper and it seems to help.  We love you more than you will ever know.

Trenton Tornadoes

On Wednesday, April 27th, 2010 we had several tornadoes hit our small town of Trenton, GA.  The first tornado hit around 9am and was an F1.  The F1 hit our elementary school and blew several transmitters so that left us without power at work.  I was terrified.  I had Lincoln at work with me because it was my mom's day to watch him and she always picks him up at the office.  The first storm peeled the roof back at my mom's business so everyone went down there to try and stop the water from ruining her inventory.  We had heard there was another storm heading our way around 2pm.  Christian's boss made them leave and go home so thankfully Christian would be there if another storm hit.

The tornado they were predicting for 2pm ended up just being a wind storm.  After that the news was saying a huge storm would hit around 5:30pm.  Christian and I decided to make a plan.  Since we do not have a basement nor does anyone in our neighborhood we would have to crawl under the house.  We never in a million years thought that we would have to use the plan but decided we would rather be safe than sorry.  Christina took an old blanket and laid it out under the house.  I packed a bag for Lincoln that had a couple of bottles, diapers and blankets.  I also included flashlights and our cell phones.  If Christian told me to go I was in charge of getting myself and Lincoln under the house.  Christian was in charge of getting the two dogs and closing the door and of course being the calm one while I am freaking out.  We kept watching the news until about 4 or so min before the tornado hit.  Last thing I remember seeing on the TV before the power went out was that the tornado (f3) would hit in 4 min and to take cover.    Lincoln and I sat in the floor in the kitchen next to the back door.  Once I started seeing the trees behind our house twist around Christian yelled it was time to go.  I grabbed Lincoln and his bag, ran outside into the storage room and under the house.  Keep in mind I am pregnant, we were crawling in about 3.5 feet of space and Lincoln weighs over 27 pounds.  We flew under the house.  Christina grabbed the dogs and was right behind me.  Somehow when he was closing the door to the storage room Lola got out and was outside during the whole storm.  Poor thing!  I have no idea how long we were under the house.  I just knew I was scared.  After a while Christian figured it would be fine to crawl out but he wanted to check before Lincoln and I got out.  He checked on the house, found Lola an crawled back under the house.  He said I wasn't going to believe the roof.  We crawled back out (which was a lot harder than going in) and I was amazed.  Every tree behind our house was on the ground roots and all.  Most of our shingles on the front of the house were gone and some on the side.  There was debris everywhere!!  We meet some neighbors in the street and checked on everyone.  Thankfully everyone was safe.  We talked to our parents and they were all safe.  We thought we had seen the worse of it.  We came back inside and I went to change Lincoln's diaper in our bedroom.  I hear water dripping and turn around to a huge puddle of water in our bedroom floor.  We found damage in our bedroom and Lincoln's bedroom.  Our ceiling fan was also full of water.  We decided that we were going somewhere because we didn't feel safe at the house.  We packed our bags and just as we were about to leave another tornado came through so under the house we went!  This one wasn't as bad as the one before but still scary.  After that we were definitely leaving!!!!  My dad kept texting us to call him ASAP but we couldn't get through.  We finally got in touch with them only to discover their house was destroyed.  They loaded up their dogs and headed to Tiftonia to get a hotel room.  We went to my friend Tiffany's parents house that had a basement.

This is my house.  The second tornado tore most of the shingles off the front of our house.

Since most of the shingles were gone off the roof of our house and it continued to rain we had several leaks inside our house.

My mom's house.
Thankfully because of the damage the first storm did to my mom's business they were all there instead of at home.  I am so grateful that they are all okay.

Most of the upstairs of my parents house is gone.  The blue room is my brother's bedroom.  The middle is the bathroom and the room on the end that doesn't have any walls left was the workout room.

We drove around the next morning to see all the destruction.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  There were destroyed houses everywhere.  We are all very thankfull to be alive and grateful that we had someone watching over us.
