Things You Should Have by 30

By 30 you should have:

1. One old boyfriend you can imagine going back to and one who reminds you of how far you’ve come. I don't have one that I would go back to.  I am with who I am suppose to be with but I do have one that reminds me of how far I have come.

2. A decent piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family. Yes, Christian and I have several things not owned by anyone else.

3. Something perfect to wear if the employer or man of your dreams wants to see you in an hour. I have several things to wear but nothing fits right now.  I still have a few pregnancy pounds to lose.

4. A purse, a suitcase and an umbrella you’re not ashamed to be seen carrying.

I have several nice purses.  My parents bought Christian and I both a nice set of luggage for Christmas two years ago.  I would like to have a nice umbrella.  I have a couple that I am not ashamed to use but I would like to have a stylish one.

5. A youth you’re content to move beyond. I had a great youth.  I made a few mistakes that I would rather forget but those helped mold me into the person I am today.

6. A past juicy enough that you’re looking forward to retelling it in your old age.  I definitely look forward to retelling some of my crazy stories.

7. The realization that you are actually going to have an old age—and some money set aside to help fund it. It has become more real since Lincoln was born.  We are still working on the savings :)

8. An e-mail address, a voice mailbox and a bank account—all of which nobody has access to but you. Definitely yes on the email address and voice mailbox. Christian and I have a joint checking and savings account.

9. A résumé that is not even the slightest bit padded. It may not be horribly impressive yet but it's definitely not padded.
I couldn't even tell you where my resume is right now.  I definitely need to work on that.

10. One friend who always makes you laugh and one who lets you cry.
I have a couple that I can laugh and cry with.

11. A set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill and a black lace bra.
I have a pink tool set & Christian has a cordless drill.  I don't think I have a bra that is totally black lace but it has some black lace on it if that counts...

12. Something ridiculously expensive that you bought for yourself, just because you deserve it.
I can't think of anything right now....maybe I should work on that :)

13. The belief that you deserve it.

14. A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine and a plan for dealing with those few other facets of life that don’t get better after 30.
I am working on getting a work out routine since I still I am still have a few pounds to lose from being pregnant.  The skin care reginmen is hit or miss.  Sometimes I am good about it and others times I'm not.

15. A solid start on a satisfying career, a satisfying relationship and all those other facets of life that do get better.
I have a great career and the opportunity to make it even better.  I have a wonderful relationship.  My husband can drive me nuts but at the end of the day I wouldn't have it any other way.  Not to mention I have the greatest little boy anyone could ever ask for and two precious doggies.
