Happy Birthday Lincoln!

Happy birthday to the most precious, loving, wild, happy two year old I know! Lincoln, you have brought so much joy and laughter to our lives over the past two years! I hope you had a wonderful birthday. You are my favorite snuggle bug!

Fizzy Tub Colors

One of the coolest kid purchases ever! The boys get to have a different bath color every night and I get to experiment trying to make new colors. I was a little worried it would irritate Lincoln's super sensitive skin but it doesn't effect it at all.

2 Under 2

Having two children under the age of 2 can be quiet a challenge sometimes.  It has gotten easier over the past several months but in the beginning it was hard.  Trying to take care of a newborn and a one year old that had just dicovered his independence can be quite the task.  Lincoln didn't understand that we had to feed Harrison or change his diaper or pay attention to him.  All he had ever know was our whole world revolving around him.  When Harrison was born Lincoln was 14 months old and starting to really explore things.

As months past he started learning that we have to love and care about his baby brother too.  When Harrison was about two weeks old it is like a light went off in Lincoln's head and from that day forward he constantly wants to love on his brother.

Now that Lincoln is almost two and Harrison is almost one we have finally gotten in a good routine of things.  They can take baths together and play with toys.  Harrison does get upset when Lincoln dumps water on his head but he is a tropper most of the time and just goes with the flow.

We have been working on sharing and sadly, Harrison usually gets the short end of the stick.  Lincoln has gotten a lot better and will share most of the time if you tell him to.  The only two things he refuses to share are his sippy cup and his blanket.  Of course, Harrison loves both of those things and is constantly grabbing at them.

I know that Harrison is going to learn a lot from his big brother.  He already seems to be picking up on things a lot quicker than Lincoln did.

Thankfully, both have been good babies and usually only cry when they are hungry, sleepy or poopy.  Harrison is much more laid back than Lincoln.  He is good at occupying himself.  Lincoln will watch TV by himself but isn't they best at playing by himself.  God knew I needed to have a laid back baby since I was going to have a toddler running around as well.

One of my favorite things is when they first see each other in the mornings.  They both start "talking" and laughing at each other.  It is so sweet.  I hope they grow up to be the best of friends and look out for each other.  It is hard at times but I wouldn't have it any other way.  There will never be a time that they remember not having each other.

Wordless Wednesday

Dog Food Disaster

Last weekend I was cleaning up the kitchen and washing bottles.  I put Harrison down to play in Lincoln's room and would go and check on him every few minutes.  The house we are renting is very small so I wasn't worried about him.  I must have got distracted washing the bottles because I was about to head to Lincoln's room to check on the boys when I heard something behind me.  At first, I figured it was the dogs then I heard Harrison laugh.  I turn around to find this....

Harrison has found a new love for the dog food and water.  He would set there and play all day if we would let him.  He crawled all the way down the hall, right past me in the kitchen and headed straight for the dog food.  I have since watched him try to do this several times and we will stop him just as he is about to reach the food.

He had to have one hand in the food and one in the water.  The floor was soaked and so was he.

Then he had to try the other hand in the water.

Both of my boys have a facination with playing in the food and especially the water.  Thankfully, the dogs don't seem to mind eating off the floor and having a little food mixed in with their water.

Weekend Recap

I woke up Saturday with a migraine and Christian was already working at the house. I had to call him to come home and take care of the boys. He ended up taking them to his Moms house do he could finish the floor downstairs. I took some medicine and took a nap. Once I slept for a couple of hours I felt much better. Christian came home and we got ready to go to lowes. My mom had called to see if Lincoln could go with them to Guntersville to look for a cabin. We stopped by Grammy's in the way to Lowes to check in in the boys and drop Lincoln things off. Christian and I had a very successful trip to Lowes. We ordered most of our exterior lights and bought all of our bathroom lights. We also picked up the supplies we needed to tile the bathrooms and one toilet. We didn't have enough room on the truck to buy the rest. Plus we wanted to make sure we liked it before we bought the rest of them since they are rather expensive.

After stopping for a quick bite to eat we headed back to Grammys to pick up H-man. My mom sent me this picture of Lincoln at the hotel.




She said he had put everything he could find in the drawer including a bucket of ice and her coffee. Then he proceeded to climb in the drawer. Can you tell he can do whatever he wants to with my parents? They also went to dinner on the lake.




Lincoln had a blast throwing rocks in the water with Popsy (Potts).

Sunday morning Harrison and I went to the new house to work a little. I knew I wouldn't be able to get too much done with him there but I thought I would give it a shot.



He stayed occupied for a little while thanks to his walker and vanilla wafers. Yes, he is wearing a Santa Claus bib and it is July but it was the first one in the drawer. The only thing I really got accomplished was putting on some outlet covers and sweeping a little. I guess every little bit helps. My parents stopped to eat at Cracker Barrel on their way home amd sent me this picture.




Lincoln was pulling out all the toys so him and Popsy could play. Once they got home Harrison and I left the house and went to pick up big brother so we could go grocery shopping.

Grocery Shopping

I usually go grocery shipping in Sundays here lately. Christian has been working at the new house a lot so it is just me and my two wild boys. I prefer to shop at Ingles because their prices are better, especially on the baby stuff, but Bilo has cool shopping carts for the boys. After I picked Lincoln up from my parents we headed to Bilo. Lincoln has a new obsession with watermelon so I decided to buy some precut slices. I put them in the cart and headed to the meat section amd had to get the butcher to cut some steaks. Somehow in the midst of me talking to the butcher Lincoln opened the package of watermelon and started choking down. Then Harrison noticed Lincoln was eating something and tried to steal it from him. Lincoln was not happy about that so I broke Harrison off a piece. Both boys couldn't get enough. It actually made for a pretty pleasant shopping experience for me. I know people we judging me as shopped for letting my kids eat unpaid for food but they should try shopping with two kids under two. Thankfully the package already had a price on it so we paid when we for to the checkout line.
