Big Mess & An Allergic Reaction

Lincoln is such a picky eater.  I have been trying to come up with new things that I think he might like.  He like chips and he likes cheese so I thought Nachos and cheese might be an option.  I bought a little lunchable and thought he woul love it.

He did eat most of the chip but just plain.  He took the cheese and salsa and made a mess on his highchair.  We ended up with cheese and salsa all over him and the chair.

This is a result of the cheese and salsa on his face.  He has super sensitive skin and this is what happens when it doesn't agree with something.  Sadly this is not the first time this has happened and I am sure it will not be the last.    Usually about 10-15 min after he wash off whatever is irritating his skin he is back to normal.

New Ride

Lincoln & Harrison got a new ride a few weeks ago.  My parents have been dreaming about this day since I found out I was pregnant.  My Dad wanted to buy Lincoln one for his first birthday even though he did not have a clue what it was.  They ended up settling on a four wheeler instead.  Anyways, my mom was so excited for the boys to take their first drive in their new Escalade.  She cleared out her warehouse and stack up a bunch of the pallets so they would have plenty of room to ride around.

Lincoln loves getting in and out of the car.

He finally figured out how to make it go but didn't care anything about steering.
I think Harrison got a little scared.

Once he noticed the steeing wheel he still didn't use it much just kind of held on.

Sesame Street Live

This past Saturday (June 23, 2012) my parents & Nanny took the boys to Nashville to watch Sesame Street Live.  Lincoln has recently started noticing Elmo and Cookie Monster (he calls him Cook).  We aren't really sure how he learned about them since we don't watch Sesame Street.  The only thing I cam come up with is from his pajamas with the characters on them.  My parents didn't tell me until Sunday that the show was the following Saturday so I was on a mad hunt trying to find them a shirt to wear.  What kind of Mom would I be if they didn't wear Sesame Street shirts.  I found some on Children's Place website and ordered them on Monday.  I didn't have time to run to Chattanooga but I just prayed they would make it here before Saturday.  I was beyond excited when they arrived on Thursday.  Anyways, I couldn't believe they wanted to take Harrison to the show too.  I was actually a little more worried about Lincoln at the show than I was Harrison.  Lincoln tends to get scared when there is a loud noise but he ended up doing fine.  My mom said Harrison absolutely loved the show.  He was clapping and yelling and throwing his arms in the air.  She said she was so happy they decided to take him because he enjoyed it more than Lincoln.

The boys right before they left for Nashville.

Harrison had a mini meltdown because he got hot.

Lincoln ready to go see Elmo and Cook.

My Nanny said that Lincoln took the little girl next to him's Elmo toy so my Mom had to go and buy one for the little girl.  Nanny said Lincoln wasn't mean and he wanted the toy so the little girl just handed it to him.

Cotton candy and snow cones for dinner.

Can you tell Harrison is our second child?  I got this picture and thought it was cute rather than worrying about him eating cotton candy.

I love the excitedment in Lincoln's face in this picture.

I guess they collected streamers from the show.

Lincoln's favorite part was the trailor outside with all of the character's picture on it.

Lincoln is pushing Harrison around in the stroller.

He did learn who big Big Bird was and kept saying it.

Harrison playing with the Elmo spinning toy.

The boys had a wonderful time at the show.  I wish I could have been there to see them.  Maybe if they come to Chattanooga sometime Christian and I can take them.

Congratulations Dex!

My brother, Dex, received a $1000 scholarship from the NW Georgia Transportation club last week.  This scholarship usually goes to someone persueing a degree in the transportation industry and Dex has no intentions of this.  He is wanting to be a missionary or a teacher.  Here is his essay for the scholarship.

While only a freshman in college and still unsure about what exactly my future holds, I am positive about one thing- that my future does hold me affecting the lives of those people with little hope about their futures.

My dad, my grandfather and now my sister have earned their livings working in the field of transportation - trucking in particular, and have all enjoued great success there!  My Dad wants me to be in trucking, and working for the company that he started back in 2003 - he even named it after my sister and me.  As much as I would like to work for him, I believe, however, that I have a different calling in life.

When I was a kid, I was always the one who tried to look out for the other kids - the ones who seemed to have a hard life.  As I moved through to high school, I became very involved in my youth group and my church, and now that I am in my first full year, at a very good, yet very religious school, I find my interests once again turning to those who have less, or even yet, who have nothing!

We are very blessed her in America to be able to pretty much have anything , or any amount of money that we want.  I wish it were true all over the world.  Those children who have no hope are the people with whom I believe that I am supposed to be serving.

While I know that this is a transportation scholarship, and that I am probably supposed to tell you that I am hoping for a long and wonderful career in the business that has fed my family all these years, I must tell you that my priority at this point in my life is to have a positive impact on young people, whether it be in the ministry, in music or in the classroom- its what I am called to do!

Thank you for considering me for your most prestigious scholarship.

Biscuit Boy

Every week my Nanny watches Lincoln for the day while I work.  Lincoln loves Nanny (NeNe) and the day is filled with whatever he wants to do.  She always brings him a butter biscuit and orange juice.  She also brings the dogs a sausage biscuit.  Did I mention the dogs love her too?  If Harrison is awake when she gets there in the morning she will watch him while I finished getting ready and get the car loaded.  This past week she decided it was time for Harrison to start eating a biscuit too.  Of course Harrison was very grateful.  He will eat anything unlike his brother.  I didn't really pay much attention as I was grabbing him to take him to the car.

I buckeled him and in and look what I found...a little biscuit for the road.

He wasn't going to leave hungry :)

Cousins

Week before last the Miklos family from up North come and visit.  We usually only see them once and year and the last two times they have been down I have been pregnant.  Some of the other family also came to visit and we had dinner at Granny & Pop's house.  We didn't get to hang out with them until the last night they were here but I had to get a pic of all the kids together.  I am extremely happy with this picture and can't believe everyone is looking and smiling.  It was so nice to visit with Aunt Bonnie, Kevin, Tina and the girls.  Hopefully one day we can visit them when things calm down a little here.

Enjoying the Sunshine

Wednesday after work me and the boys met Christian at a local BBQ place for dinner.  After dinner Christian had to run to the (new) house to see how the steps were looking.  The boys and I decided to put a blanket outside and enjoy the sunshine while we were waiting on Daddy to get home.
Can you tell this sweet boy was having a good time?

Lincoln was amazed that he could see himself on the phone screen hints the weird face.

When Christian got home we tried to get a family picture and failed miserably.  I think the boys were getting hot because I know I sure was.  It was time to go inside and Lincoln to pitch a fit because he wanted to stay outside.

Friday Foto Faves

Harrison is seriously always happy.

Lincoln found a flower to blow.  He isn't really good at doing it and usually ends up with most of it stuck to his mouth.  Don't mind the overgrown grass in the background.  The yard man can right after I took this picture and the next one.

Someone has a birthday coming up soon!  I can't believe he will be two in a little over a month.

He loves his chomper blanket.

Daddy and Lincoln doing the monster face after bath time.

My sweet boys in their Yo Gabba Gabba shirts.  Lincoln gets so excited when I get his YGG shirt out to wear.  He thought it was neat that Harrison had Muno on his shirt too.

Cookout with the Byers

Saturday evening we went to Nana & Pop Pop's house for a Father's Day cookout with them.  Aunt Tay Tay and Uncle B came up from Cartersville too!  Sadly the only pictures I took were the boys in the pool.  We had a great time and ate a yummy dinner.

Lincoln had the best time splashing around in the pool.

Daddy was taking Lincoln underwater.

Father's Day 2012

Sunday morning we met Popsy at Huddle House for breakfast.  I know it wasn't very fancy but we live in a small town and it was the only thing open.  We would normally go to church with my parents for Father's Day but Popsy was going to my grandfather's church and they don't have a nursery so I didn't think it was such a great idea.  Plus Christian had to work at the house for a few hours after breakfast so it would have been just me.
Lincoln and Harrison both adore their Popsy.

I wasn't planning on getting my picture made.  I didn't have time to take a shower so I just pulled my hair back and threw on a tshirt.

I love this picture!

After breakfast me and the boys went to the grocery store and then home and Christian went to the new house to work.  It was getting close to their nap time by the time we got home home.  so I feed them both and put them to bed.  Once the boys woke up and Christian got home we headed to Memaw and Poppy's house for a cookout.  I didn't take many pictures because it was a mad house.

Lincoln, of course, talked Grammy into giving him dessert even though he didn't eat very good.  Although I don't think he had to try very hard to convince her.  Lincoln is a very messy eater.  He had the cake from head to toe.

He had cake crumbs all in his hair.

Harrison also crawled for the first time on Father's Day.  He crawled over to Honey dog.  Honey is the sweetest dog.  She has be raised around a million kids so she just lets them do whatever.  Harrison was pulling her hair and patting her and she just laid there.

I am so lucky for my kids to have such a wonderful Father.  I know that no matter what our kids will always come first to him.  He is the best Daddy!  Both of the boys just light up when he comes in the room.  I forgot to take a picture of his present from the boys.  Maybe I will just post it later.

We also forgot to get a picture of the boys with Grandad.  It was getting late and Harrison was ready for bed.
